✨ Layers of Colour – The Tui Takes Shape

The tui is beginning to reveal its character. After building the base layers, I’ve now added several washes of colour, deep blues and shifting greens , to echo the tui’s iridescent feathers.

This stage is about slowly layering and blending, capturing the way light dances across their plumage. On the corrugated copper, the colours catch differently at each angle, giving the bird a living, shifting presence.

It’s still early, with many details and refinements ahead, but already the tui is starting to take shape and hold its place in the scene.
